The McFatridge Administration

The McFatridge Administration

During her time as President, Carson McFatridge and her team:

  • Helped host the first-ever concert of its kind at Dudy Noble Field, featuring Mississippi natives Hardy and Randy Houser.
  • Launched the official MSU Student Association marketplace app in partnership with Rumie College Marketplace and created a page to promote student small businesses, which is now being used at schools across the country.
  • Distributed Stop Topps to local bars to promote drinking safety in the Starkville community and promote our Night Route program. These efforts with the City of Starkville, along with additional student concerns, led to the Board of Alderman passing increased surveillance camera requirements.
  • Hosted a movie night for students in Davis Wade Stadium benefiting Bully’s Pantry.
  • Worked with the Office of the President to secure funding for new pickleball courts next to the Sanderson Center.
  • Hosted a notary day for students needing absentee ballots notarized, specifically supporting out-of-state students who could not make it home to vote in person.
  • Created a marketing campaign partnering with student governments from all 8 other Mississippi IHL institutions and the MS Secretary of State’s Office to promote voter registration.
  • Hosted the first ever “Town Hall of Fame”, giving every student organization on campus an opportunity to meet with the Student Association Executive Council and Student Affairs administrators.
  • Secured funding for the construction of bat houses on campus in partnership with The Wildlife Society and the College of Forest Resources.
  • Secured funding for the construction of a native plant preservation area along Wingo Way in partnership with Students for a Sustainable Campus.
  • Worked with Student Affairs administration to allow students to rush the court at Humphrey Coliseum after defeating Texas A&M in men’s basketball.
  • Expanded representation on the Senate to include the College of Veterinary Medicine and the College of Professional and Continuing Studies.
  • Added a page to the SA website to request an appearance from an executive officer at any student organization.
  • Helped start the Peer Support Program in partnership with Student Counseling Services.
  • Updated sexual harassment resource stickers in university bathrooms.
  • Created the “Wi-Fi Task Force” to evaluate campus wireless internet connectivity. This group generated a Wi-Fi report for ITS to use in improving technology on campus.
  • Worked with Campus Services, Emergency Management, MSU Police, the Dean of Students, and Student Affairs to host a “Campus Safety Walk” that evaluated campus safety and accessibility issues.
  • Hosted a focus group with the Office of Emergency Management to evaluate student responses to emergencies. This led to partnering with Emergency Management to host the “Preparathon” event.
  • Began a “Donation Station” program for students to donate items from their residence halls when moving out at the end of the school year rather than throwing them away.
  • Created a new “Homecoming Review Task Force” to evaluate everything that goes into MSU Homecoming. This led to the changes that were implemented in the spring 2025 election cycle.
  • Partnered with the Graduate Student Association to host the first-ever “Grad Scoop”, an event that connected undergraduates, graduate students, and educated undergraduates on opportunities in grad school.
  • Gathered over $20,000 in donations to Bully’s Pantry during the Egg Bowl Food Fight, fighting food insecurity and overwhelmingly defeating Ole Miss.
