The Executive Council of the Student Association is composed of both elected and appointed members. The Executive Council members of the Student Association are the official representatives and are responsible for the overall direction of the organization. The Student Association is comprised of three main groups, which includes the Student Association Cabinet, Senate and Judicial.
Garrett is a senior majoring in political science. This is Garrett’s fourth year serving the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Garrett served as a freshman senator, a campus wide senator, and Student Association Vice President. Garrett is also a Provost Scholar and a member of Beta Upsilon Chi. Kennedy is a junior majoring in accounting. This is Kennedy’s third year serving the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Kennedy served as a Freshman Senator on the 58th Senate and as Chairman of the Student Affairs Committee on the 59th Senate. Kennedy is also a National Merit Scholar and a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Reagan is a senior majoring in political science and spanish. This is Reagan’s third year serving the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Reagan served as Co-Director of Community and Governmental Relations on Cabinet and Subchairman of Community and External Affairs on the 59th Senate. Reagan is also the Director of Financial Operations for Delta Delta Delta and is a member of the Pre Law Society and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Reagan was the ritualist for Lambda Sigma Honor Society her sophomore year and was a member of Dance Marathon her freshman year. Chanu is a senior Biomedical Engineering Major from Madison, Mississippi. This is Chanu’s 4th year serving on the Student Association. Chanu was introduced to the Student Association as a freshman on Freshman Forum, then served on SA Cabinet as Director of Logistics for Freshman Forum, then as a Senator on the Student Affairs committee, and now as the Treasurer of the Student Association. Chanu has always had a heart for service, and has spent the majority of his time in college serving MSU through various other organizations. Chanu has been a part of New Maroon Camp staff for three years, serving most recently on the executive staff as the Logistics Coordinator, MaroonVIP, where he served as President, and is also a current member of Alumni Delegates. Chanu hopes to help fund lots of events this year and make the lives of students and student organization leaders easier during his time as Treasurer. Lastly, Chanu loves everything about Mississippi State, but his favorite part is the people! Hope Lee is a senior from Vicksburg, MS majoring in Communication with a broadcasting concentration. This is Hope’s fourth year serving the student body through the Student Association. Starting out a member of Freshman Forum her first year, she then became the director of Freshman Forum and the Donald Zacharias Leadership Conference her sophomore year, continued to serve the freshman class as the Deputy Chief of Staff, and now resides as the Chief of Staff. Advocating for and helping to shape the student experience has become a passion of Hope’s throughout her college career. Hope wants students to know that there is space for every single student to succeed and excel, and she hopes to aid underrepresented students of Mississippi State University find that space. Chrissy Hoof is a junior from Birmingham, AL, majoring in interior design with a minor in marketing. She has had the pleasure to serve in the Student Association for three years. She was a member of Freshmen Council her first year at Mississippi State, and as a sophomore, Chrissy served as the Director of Homecoming and Pageants on the Student Association Cabinet. Around campus, Chrissy is also a Roadrunner and has served as a counselor for New Maroon Camp for two years. She also loves to write, which led her to writing for Être Magazine! As Director of Programming, Chrissy hopes to translate her love for this university into fun, inclusive events that bring students joy and knowledge and keep them excited about being students at MSU! Director of Policy
Campbell Taylor is a Junior from Niceville, Florida and is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. This is Campbell’s third consecutive year serving the students of Mississippi State in the Student Association. Freshman year, Campbell was a member of Freshman Groups, in what was formerly known as Freshman Council, working in the Policy division and went on to serve on Cabinet the following year as the Director of this group. Campbell is also involved on campus as the Director of Communication for the Interfraternity Council, as a New Maroon Camp counselor, a mentor for the Brickfire Project, and a member of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta. Campbell continually cites the ability to make positive changes on the MSU campus as the driving force behind his passion for the Student Association. Rachel Carpenter is a Junior from Corinth, Mississippi, majoring in Political Science and Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing, Accounting, & Business Law. This is Rachel’s second year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Her sophomore year, Rachel served on Student Association Cabinet’s Marketing Board, as a Co-Director of Public Relations. On campus, Rachel is a member of Lambda Sigma Honor Society, Delta Gamma Sorority, Dance Marathon, and more. As Director of Marketing, Rachel wants to make Student Association marketing efforts diverse, inclusive, and transparent. She is passionate about students and make sure they have access to all of the opportunities Mississippi State offers. Ashya Richardson is a junior from Flowood, Mississippi. She is majoring in Biochemistry with a Pre-med concentration. This is Ashya’s third year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Her first year, she was a member of Freshman Forum. Her experience as a counselor ignited her passion to continue to serve the Student Association. Ashya previously served on cabinet as the Director of Counselors for Freshman Forum. On campus, Ashya also serves as a New Maroon Camp Counselor and is a member of the Lambda Sigma Honor Society. Ashya has a passion for implementing change to improve the Freshman Experience. As Deputy Chief of Staff, Ashya plans to increase transparency from the Student Association to freshman students, and intends to create an inclusive environment for students within the Student Association and beyond!
