Bully's Pantry

Bully's Pantry

Bully’s Pantry is a collaborative effort of the MSU Division of Student Affairs and the Student Association to assist in meeting the basic needs of students who may be experiencing food insecurity and other financial needs. National data around food and basic need insecurity indicates approximately 30% of college students are in need. Many Mississippi State Students have significant financial needs and the Food Security Network on campus is working to further investigate this issue.

On average, some 200 MSU students are assisted annually through the university’s Block by Block program, which enables students to receive dining hall meals donated by other students and MSU’s dining partner, Aramark. Bully’s Pantry will make a significant impact on MSU students by providing food and necessities like toiletry items when they need it most. Through this program, Mississippi State can lessen the financial stressors some students face daily, allowing them to focus on the important goal of attaining their college degree.

This project was started in Fall 2018 under Student Association President Mayah Emerson and was completed in Spring 2020 with the help of Vice President of Student Affairs Regina Hyatt along with many other staff and administration.

At Mississippi State, we are a family, and Bully’s Pantry is just another way we are taking care of what matters. Hail State!
