The Executive Council of the Student Association is composed of both elected and appointed members. The Executive Council members of the Student Association are the official representatives and are responsible for the overall direction of the organization. The Student Association is comprised of three main groups, which includes the Student Association Cabinet, Senate and Judicial.
Jake is a 5th year senior double majoring in Biomedical and Software Engineering. This is Jake’s fourth year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Jake served as Vice President of the Student Association and represented the College of Engineering as a Student Association Senator. He also served as the Community and Governmental Relations chairmen and the Pro Tempore of the Senate. On campus Jake is involved with the Honors College, acted as the scholarship chair of Sigma Chi, and is involved in undergraduate research. Emily is a senior from Richmond, Virginia majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. This is Emily's third year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Emily served on the 56th and 57th Senate as a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences. On campus, Emily is involved in, Pre-Law Society, the Stennis-Montgomery Association, Order of Omega, and Pi Beta Phi where she currently serves as the Vice President of Membership. Sarah Helen Skelton
Sarah Helen is a junior majoring in Communication with a minor in Political Science. This is Sarah Helen's third year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Sarah Helen served on Cabinet as the director of Freshman Forum and the Donald Zacharias Leadership Conference. She also served as a member of Freshman Forum her first year. On campus, Sarah Helen has been involved in New Maroon Camp, Maroon VIP, Chi Omega and undergraduate research. Jes is a senior majoring in Finance with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance. On campus, Jes is involved with Foundation Ambassadors as their President, the Mississippi State Interfraternity Council as Co-Director of Recruitment and his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, as Recording Secretary. He also remains active on Gamma Iota Sigma risk management and insurance honor society and spent the summer interning with Gallagher. While Jes visited family in north Mississippi during high school, he attended a Fall Preview Day and fell in love with campus, ultimately deciding to move two state lines from Houston, Texas to become a part of the bulldog family. Chief of Staff
David is a 5th year Senior double majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics, along with Minors in Computer Science, Math and a Certificate of Completion in Computational Biology. This is David’s third year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Previously, David has served as Director of the Bulldog Bash Committee for two years, and was a member of the Special Events Committee. On campus David is involved with the Bagley College of Engineering with the Engineering Recruitment Leaders, where he served as the VP of Events, and served in the past as the Director of Activities for the Engineering Student Council, acted as the Brotherhood Chair for Sigma Chi, served on New Maroon Camp Staff for three years as a Programming Staffer and Logistics Coordinator and Assistant Director of Programming for New Maroon Camp, served as a member for Living For Tomorrow, Mississippi State Fashion Board and Feed The Hunger, and is involved in undergraduate research. David has also had the honor of being involved in both the Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi Honors Societies. David is excited to serve with the Student Association this year, and can’t wait to work with everyone to bring an amazing year for all students. Director of Programming
Julianna is a Junior majoring in Chemistry with Spanish and Biology minors. She is from Brookhaven, MS. This is Julianna’s third year serving the Student Association. Her freshman year was spent working alongside other new MSU students with Freshman Edge, and last year, she served on SA Cabinet as a Director for Film & Late Night Events. Outside of SA, Julianna is involved in the Pre-Dental Society, Chi Omega, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and Feed the Hunger. She also loves spending her time as a Maroon VIP and Roadrunner by displaying her love for this university to campus visitors. The Student Association has given Julianna a variety of opportunities to grow in leadership, discipline, and responsibility, and she loves to give others the same opportunities for growth that she has received. Julianna has a passion for serving others around the campus, and loves spending time programming events that will impact students and make MSU feel even more like a home for them. Director of Policy
Juan is a senior majoring in Finance with a minor in French. He is from Greenville, Mississippi and is currently serving as the Director of Policy. Previously, he served in the Student Association Senate for two years and was a part of Freshman Forum. Juan also spent this past summer serving as an Orientation Leader. Throughout his undergrad, Juan has been involved in New Maroon Camp, MVIP, Dance Marathon, College Republicans and Beta Upsilon Chi. He is currently serving in the RSL Board, which awards grants for start-up businesses and he manages a restaurant in Starkville, MS. Katie is a Junior majoring in Marketing with a background in Graphic Design. This is Katie’s second year serving the Student Association. Previously, Katie served as the Director of Graphic Design on cabinet. On campus, Katie is involved in Undergraduate Woman in Business and Kappa Delta where she serves as Graphic Design and T-shirt Chairman. Katie is from Nashville, TN but loved the small town feel and southern hospitality of Starkville which led her to MSU. Katie found a home away from home, not only at MSU, but also within The Student Association. She is passionate to show the student body all of the amazing opportunities SA provides this year so that they too can find a home away from home. Deputy Chief of Staff
Tyler is a junior from Stateline, Mississippi majoring in Political Science and minoring in Sociology. This is Tyler's third year to serve the student body within the Student Association. Previously, Tyler served on Freshmen Council, the 57th Senate as a Campus Wide Senator and now as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Executive Council. Tyler loves getting involved with incoming and prospective students, which brought him to be apart of Mississippi State's 2019 Orientation Leader team, Roadrunner, and New Maroon Camp staff. He loves music and is also a member of Mississippi State's Black Voices Gospel Choir. He currently serves as Vice President of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi, and hopes to continue to represent his hometown, family, and God to the best of his ability during his time here at Mississippi State.
