The Executive Council of the Student Association is composed of both elected and appointed members. The Executive Council members of the Student Association are the official representatives and are responsible for the overall direction of the organization. The Student Association is comprised of three main groups, which includes the Student Association Cabinet, Senate and Class Council.
Roxanne Raven is a senior Political Science major from Starkville, MS. She has roots in North Mississippi as well as Okemos, Michigan. She is honored to serve as the President of the Student Association and looks forward to working with students all across campus. She wants to ensure students are having the best experience possible. Roxie's primary goal is to work with students to see that their visions for change on campus become realities. Hunt Walne is a senior Agronomy major originally from Collierville, TN. Prior to this year, Hunt has served three terms on the SA Senate and as President Pro-Tempore of the Senate during the 2015-16 session. He has also served as Vice President of Communications of the Interfraternity Council, and is an Undergraduate Research Scholar for the College of Ag and Life Science. In his free time, Hunt enjoys spending time in the outdoors and being active is his fraternity, Sigma Chi.
Tyler McMurray is a junior majoring in Animal and Dairy Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is from Flowood, MS and would like to attend Veterinary School at Mississippi State. Her career goals include the opportunity to own her own private practice for small animals. Giving back to the university is one of her main goals. She enjoys doing so through the Student Association. Tyler has served as a Director of Late Night Events as well as a Cabinet Committee Member of Freshman Council in the past and continues to place an emphasis on Cabinet as well as Senate. Ashley Brooks is a a Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Business Administration. Currently residing in Starkville, MS; she is from Salem, Illinois. Ashley's career path is coursing to pursue a career in medicine. This past year, she served as Co-Chairman of the Appropriations Committee in SA Senate, and she is excited to be serving the student body as Treasurer this year. Ashley believes the SA should always be a welcoming place that is committeed to serving all students. My name is Gavin King, and I will be serving as the 2016-17 Attorney General of the Student Association; prior to this, Gavin served as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Student Association. He is a native of Auburn, Alabama and a 2013 graduate of Opelika High School. Gavin will be attending law school after graduation. Aside from his activities in student government, he also served as Chairman of MSU College Republicans, Trumpet Squad Leader in the Famous Maroon Band, a Montgomery Leadership Fellow, and has held mulitple posts in his fraternity. Chief of Staff
Aalaap Desai is a senior Biomedical Engineering and Pre-Med major with a minor in Mathematics. Originating from Ridgeland, MS, he serves as the Chief of Staff. Aalaap also served as the President of the MSU Honors Council, a Roadrunner, as well as a previous member of the Student Association Research & Development committee. With his many different areas of involvement on campus, Aalaap understands the main goals and importance of the SA in unifying and representing a diverse student body. He is passionate in making sure that every program or policy that Student Association has influenced will enrich the student experience at Mississippi State.
Audrey Anne Estess
Director of Programming
AudreyAnne is a Senior, Interdisciplinary Sciences major from Clinton, MS. She is in the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine's Early Entry Program and will begin Vet School after graduation. AudreyAnne has a passion for service and has served as a SA Committee member, Senate, and Cabinet member. She feels so blessed to get the opportunity to serve as Director of Programming. AudreyAnne's goal is to improve upon the student experience and provide students with memories of their college years that they will never forget. Director of Policy
Edward White is a Chemical Engineering major from Slidell, Louisiana. “Eddie” began his involvement within the Student Association as a member of Freshman Council and has served within the Student Association in various roles since. As Director of Policy, it is his job and goal to push policies and initiatives through Mississippi State’s administration that better the student experience for all. If you wish to voice concerns or ideas, Eddie’s door is always open.
Director of Marketing
Prior to joining the Student Association, Jacob (a transfer student) served as the President of the Transfer Student Association, overseeing all aspects of student life geared towards students transferring from other institutions of higher education. He is from Tupelo, MS with roots in North Mississippi and Louisiana. His marketing skillset started at an early time in his educational career. Jacob serves as a Marketing Assistant to the Department of Athletic Marketing and Promotions of Mississippi State University. There he is engaged in all aspects of marketing and management for the 16 sports that MSU offers.
He has an Associate’s Degree in business from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi and is currently pursing his Bachelors of Business Administration with interests in marketing, insurance and management. Deputy Chief of Staff
Mayah, from Meridian Mississippi, is a sophomore student at Mississippi State University majoring in secondary education. During her time at MSU she has become involved by participating in Maroon VIP, New Maroon Camp as well as Bully’s Belles. Mayah also served as a Senator for the Student Association, and had the honor of representing the freshman class as homecoming maid on the 2015-2016 Mississippi State University Homecoming Court. Mayah was also a Day One Leadership student. Serving the students of this university is a passion for Mayah, and she is enthusiastic about the year to come.
