Cram Craze: Discounts and Extended Hours - Student Association Late Night Events committee is hosting Cram Craze from April 24th to May 2nd. Various dining venues on campus will be extending their hours and offering discounts to students during exam week. For those students on campus late at night during exam week, there will be more snacks, treats, and drinks available to keep them energized while studying.
Burger King, Village Pizza, and the P.O.D. in Hathorn Hall will stay open until 1 am, Wednesday April 24 to Thursday May 2nd. Einstein’s Bros Bagels and Starbucks will stay open until midnight, Sunday April 28th to Tuesday April 30th. Coffee at Starbucks will only cost $1 from 8pm to 12am.
Condoleezza Rice - STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State will welcome former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to campus March 26 to take part in the university's Global Lecture Series.
Rice will be the featured speaker during the 7 p.m. free public lecture at Humphrey Coliseum. A moderated question-and-answer session will follow Rice's address. Attendees must have tickets for entry, and two tickets per person are available at the Center for Student Activities in MSU's Colvard Student Union, Suite 314 or at the campus Barnes & Noble bookstore.
Rice served as the nation's 66th secretary of state from January 2005-2009. She was the second woman and first African American woman to hold the post. She also served as President George W. Bush's assistant to the president for national security affairs (national security advisor) from January 2001-2005, the first woman to hold the position.
Rice currently is the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University; the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the university's Hoover Institution and a professor of political science. She is also a founding partner of RiceHadleyGates LLC.
She has authored and co-authored numerous books, including two bestsellers, "No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington" (2011) and "Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family" (2010); "Germany Unified and Europe Transformed: A Study in Statecraft" (1995) with Philip Zelikow; "The Gorbachev Era" (1986) with Alexander Dallin; and "Uncertain Allegiance: The Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak Army" (1984).
Rice currently serves on the boards of KiOR, a renewable fuels company; C3, an energy software company and Makena Capital, a private endowment firm. In addition, she is a member of the boards of the George W. Bush Institute, the Commonwealth Club, the Aspen Institute, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Previously, Rice also has served on various additional boards, including: the Chevron Corporation; the Charles Schwab Corporation; the Transamerica Corporation; the University of Notre Dame and the San Francisco Symphony Board of Governors.
Born in Birmingham, Ala., Rice earned her bachelor's degree in political science, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver; her master's from the University of Notre Dame and her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Rice is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has been awarded ten honorary doctorates.

2011-12 SA Executive Summary & Transition Report - The completed SA Executive Summary & Transition Report for 2011-12. It is our hope that it will serve as a great benefit to future SA Administrations in their many endeavors.
The document was approved on March 27th by the SA Senate and contains 110 pages of transitional information for the SA. The document contains pages dedicated to each position on the SA Executive Council, SA Cabinet, as well as a section dedicated to the SA Senate. The document includes accomplishments for this year and a strategic plan forward.
