Get Involved
The Student Association has many great ways to get involved.
SA Committee selection happens in late August or early September of each year. Committee members assist Cabinet members in planning and implementing endeavors and help to provide the manpower for all that the SA does for students.
SA Senate elections are held in September of each year. Candidates can run according to their residence or college membership.
SA Cabinet selection occurs in the spring of each year, immediately following the election of the new Executive Council. Cabinet members are the directors of the SA committees and serve as advisors to the President and Executive Council.
SA Class Council elections take place in conjunction with SA Senate elections. Members of the class councils make plans for fundraising efforts for a major donation to the University on behalf of the members of that class upon graduation.
In addition to the ways listed above, there are two special opportunities for freshmen to get involved. As part of the first-year experience program at Mississippi State, freshmen can begin developing their leadership experience in Freshman Council or Freshman Forum. Click here to learn more.
